  the watchtower society dates noah's flood to 2370 b.c.e.

  they do this by following bible chronology quite closely, counting backwards from 607 b.c.e., their date for babylon's destruction of jerusalem.

  however, as we know, the society's date for that event is in error.

  for the last few days i've been involved in putting a post together for this board that has been growing and growing because one idea led to another, etc.

  (i really got to stop drinking so much caffeine) anyway i'm at a point where i would appreciate some feedback.. the sept 11 terrorist attack got me thinking about what would happen if there was a major physical disaster at either ny headquarters or bethel.

  i'm talking about say a horrific accident or terrorist act that leaves many witnesses dead and injured.

  well you should know why and how such names are used and why they are used purposefully by the wts.. awake june 22 ,2000 page 6. some people insult those who disagree with them by questioning character or motives instead of focusing on the facts.

  Could it be that today there are people who keep their mind also in a "strange" way to the bible by rejecting certain "laws" of any doctine-giving group?

  May be there are many apostates in the eyes of such groups.
  But in the eyes of GOD they cant be apostates as they obey to the bible.
  And the bible does not demand to baptize someone into an organization e.g.
  I am tired to write here more - you know what I mean.

  Apostates may be apostates in regard to any organization but cna they be apostates in regard to god when they dont agree in certain practice?

  I guess nobody can throw the stone for this fact.

  after reading puppylove's post, "a sad example of jw brainwashing /twisted thinking", and hearing very familiar comments, i have decided to relate an experience i had a few days ago, which i am leary to relate since the key factor severely limits the jw population of "possibles".

  a jw, who usually avoids me like the plague, placed themself in a position of being alone with me for a few hours due to their greedy desire to obtain something free.

  hi folks, your experience is exact the same I have.
  Today there are elders on the platform speaking that 1975 doesn't origin from the soiciety but from some JWs who were to fast in their mind.....
  And I remember there is an utterance of the society I guess in the 1980 yearbook (maybe earlier) just in the beginning about page 30-40 where they agree that they have some guilt in the 1975 thinking.
  Our CO was very open on the platform, when I dsicussed this with him privately before the meeting and told him that some brothers deny the 1975 case he integrated into his speech that the "1975 hope did not grow upstream but downstream".
  I think that people are very much hurt in their conscience and mind, in their personality. They seem like to be raped that it is a mechanism of protection to deny the real situation.
  Indeed, some have taken place on the chair of Moses, on the chair of Abraham, rejecting the conscience of anybody, demanding an own righteosness.
  But the trial begins in the house of the Lord and I am convinced that those in the ivory towers will get their full measure.
  Lets be patient and look what future will bring

  For You Know: Life in 1960

  friends and neighbors,.

  on another thread, "bad news for you know", i pointed out the amazing changes that have occured in the quality of life since 1960. you know maintains that life has been going down hill since then.

  after about 25 unanswered posts on that thread, i figured that he was not going to address the facts.. now, what i would like to propose is that you who remember life in the 1960's, to list some of the conveniences and inventions that the average person did not have then, that are readily available today.
